SCEA deferment 2023 is like going to a high school dance

If you have been deferred. It is like going to a high school dance and the person you wanted to dance with tells you maybe later.

  1. Be disappointed for a day or two
  2. After that is over get to your RA applications and kick butt
  3. Princeton is a great school it has many great parts and some not as great. Move on and find the person (college) that does want to dance. If Princeton comes back to you later that will be a nice surprise.
  4. The Rolling Stones said it best, “No, you can’t always get what you want, You can’t always get what you want, You can’t always get what you want, But if you try sometime you find You get what you need.”

Princeton uses EA to collect the ultra rich, athletes, and legacies. Princeton is historically not a great recruiter of underrepresented minority students (URM) and diversity. They get some from Questbridge and etc. They in a information session say they have 40% people of color, then with a laugh say as self reported. So when you walk around Princeton you get a disconnect where you will say 3%. So you were most likely not beaten out for EA by affirmative action.

It is time to find the college that wants to dance. Take a few days to be disappointed then get back to work for the Jan 1 RA deadlines. You may find you get what you need.
