SCEA for Ivy Athletes

When do Ivy admissions notify their SCEA athletic recruits of their acceptance decisions? Early enough to apply to other “early” option schools (usually Nov. 1 of senior year) if deferred or rejected?

That is going to depend entirely on the timing of the likely letter review.

It is the Ivy League rule that the earliest LL is Oct 1 of the senior year in high school. Therefore, completed application has to be submitted to the admissions office 1 week before the first Likely Letter meeting, which is usually September 26. So the application has to be in by Sept 15 if you want to be considered for the first batch of LL’s sent out on Oct 1. These athletes are extremely hard at work on their application during the summer, since their essays, as well as all of the letters of recommendation have to be in by the Sept 15.
