Can someone explain to me how to make a college schedule. I am trying to make a schedule where I can fit all the courses required by my major and other prerequisite courses for another possible career. But when I look at prerequisites and required courses, 1) Its listed in hours. 2) Its categorized completely differently from highs school courses so I have no idea which course are required and which aren't for example which are electives I don't need and which are just required courses in general.
So can someone help me explain how I am supposed to make a potential schedule and how to know which courses are the ones I need for the major and what not.

Are you enrolled in college yet? Typically in college, you’ll be assigned an advisor/advisors (at my school; you get an academic advisor, a professional major advisor, and an Honors advisor) – they, along with other administrators, will walk you through what courses you need and how to craft your schedule. You’ll also have a degree audit where you’ll be able to see how courses you’re currently enrolled in get you closer to graduation (is the course a gen ed, a major course, an elective, a minor, a double major course, etc).

Well I’m a high school senior right now and was considering in applying at the University of Houston college of business but I want to make sure I will be able to complete medical prerequisites as well before I apply.

I don’t foresee you being unable to fulfill medical school prerequisites on top of your college/major requirements – there are English Literature majors who complete med school prereqs. Unless UH has an unusually complicated and timely track for business (which I doubt) you should be okay. Maybe shoot an advisor an email.

Thank You for the help!

This might give you somewhere to start for premed requirements:

Remember that requirements vary by school, as well. It also seems like there are premed advisors. If you do go there, consider making an appointment with one of them.

As for requirements for your major, this might help:
