Scheduling Question

So everyone,
its getting to that time of the year at my school when we start to schedule for next year. I will be a senior next year, and i want to get the most out of my schedule in terms of looking good on apps. So heres my dillemma: Im in band, which takes up one period every day. Ive been in band since 5th grade, and i think that this would be a positive thing on an app. However, I am also planning to take post-secondary classes at a local college as much as I can next year. They are moving band to a period that will most likely interfere with my post-secondary schedule, and i wont be able to take as many courses there. So, should i drop band in order to pursue challenging academics, or should i stay in band? By the way, i dont really enjoy band all that much (not a stereotypical band geek), so i probably wouldnt miss it.

ANY advice is appreciated!

What are the classes you are looking at and what do you want to pursue in college, are these classes unavailble at your school nad have you maxed out your school

btw don't do stuff just for Apps, it is not a good idea

yeah my high school doesnt offer any Honors or AP classes at all, so taking post-secondary classes is pretty much the hardest option my school offers. Im pretty much just planning to take some general-ed freshman classes there, maybe a foreign language and some math and science. This year i took psychology 110 and 111 and also Pre-calc. Im not looking to go into music in college at all. I want to study either environmental science or anthropology, or some combination of both, and also get my pre-med studies in there too, as i do plan to go to med school. I try not to do things "just for the applications", but i do think i have talent in music, and music is definitely one of the things i am most passionate about, just not marching band. Too bad my school sucks and doesnt offer any other music classes.

hope this answers your ?s
thanks for the help

then I would drop band, you did it for a lonnngg time and you aren't just dropping it to do nothing, changing is not a bad thing, so long as you are replacing it with something that is a passion

so me, i would drop the band and take the classes

Drop band. I was in band from 5-11 grade, but I dropped it my senior year and took AP Physics C instead. I'm glad I did; you can still do it on the side.
