Scheduling

Hello! I am a student who was accepted ED to Colby College… yay! I am wondering when I could expect information being sent out for us students in terms of class scheduling and dorming. I don’t have any older siblings, so I am sorry if I sound like a complete noob…

Hello! Same here, it’s actually kind of crazy how little information we’ve received. I asked an admissions officer on the Facebook page the same question and he answered like this: “the offices of the Dean of Students and Campus Life will be reaching out to all enrolled students in the coming months with information about course selection, residential life (roommate surveys and dorm preferences), academic advisors, health and immunization forms, and orientation trip (COOT) selection. For Global Entry Semester students, you’ll be receiving additional information pertaining to your departure and the experiences you’ll have during your semester in Dijon or Salamanca” So basically not entirely helpful, but at least it seems like it’s going to happen soon!

@number999999, they won’t even know who’s coming until May, so I wouldn’t expect to hear anything about roomies or scheduling or anything until then at the earliest (but probably June). Focus on finishing HS strong (and enjoying your last month or two), then shift gears towards college.

Colby has a great process for this - and it takes place over the summer. Remember that RD just got decisions on Friday, and people are still figuring out where to enroll next year.

You’ll be assigned an advisor who will work with you on scheduling, invited to local welcome events, fill out a roommate questionnaire, choose a COOT trip, etc. But noNE of this really starts until June.
