I need to write a personal statement for a local scholarship. The thing is, I don't really know what to write. Not writers block, I just don't know what people talk about in these things. Could someone please give me a skeleton of what it should look like (they want it to be 150-500 words long), and perhaps some advice on what to write? Any help would be much appreciated! (I also posted this in the essay section b/c I didn't know where it would fit best)

bump??????

I've had the same dilemma as you, but one of the scholarships I applied for asked for applicants to state why they needed the scholarship, what they planned to study/do after college, and how the scholarship would help. I think generally they just want to get a feel for who you are and determine need possibly, so try to have an original voice. I don't know a whole lot about this, that's just what I did, so it'd be nice if other (knowledgeable) people post.
