Question about scholarship recommendations. Whom should my D have give their recommendation for a local scholarship that awards those already attending college, her high school GC/teacher who has known her 4 years or so, or a professor at her college, who has only known her a few months? Any thoughts appreciated.

If the college is local, I'd suggest the professor. If not, however, I suggest the h.s. GC because they are more likely to be known to members of a local scholarship committee. Havng served on scholarship committees, I know that recommendations will hold more weight if committee members happen to know the recommender.

Good point, perhaps she can find someone we know that is actually a "member" of the organization/type of organization that the scholarship is from. Have to think on that one. Thanks for your reply.
