Scholarship

Has anyone heard about scholarship awards? If so, when and how?

I didn’t want your post to go unanswered. No, I haven’t heard anything.

Looks like we have to wait a little bit longer. From the scholarship website:

Students must have the admissions application and all supporting credentials on file in the admissions office by December 1 to be considered for the Presidential Scholarship. Students will be notified of scholarship awards no later than March 1.

Thanks - just a few more weeks.

i got a letter from college of charleston for the presidential scholarship today.

I too received a Presidential Scholarship notification today. The scholarship is $3,750 per year.

Congratulations to both of you!!!

My daughter received the Presidential Scholarship today… $10,000 per year! Yay!

I got a letter today; $16,858 per year, 4000 presidential, 12,858 for covering the out of state tuition cost. I hope it’s not too late to apply to the Honors College, I really should have done that earlier

Congratulations to all of you!! Did any of you who received letters check if the information was also posted on your Charleston account? I was told that award notifications would be posted online. I hope to receive something in the mail soon.

Info about scholarships only came in mail. Nothing posted on Cougar Trail/My Charleston.

I got a letter yesterday. Same as jackpiunti: $16,858 a year, 4000 of it is Presidential, the rest covers OOS tuition. I checked, and there was nothing online, only got a notification in the mail.

same here $16,858 a year, 4000 of it is Presidential. What’s tuition 32k?

It looks like there’s a couple different levels of the Pres. scholarship. I only got 1,750 base with 2,000 for being OOS totaling $3750. Looks like some others got 4000 base with OOS to IS difference covered totaling $16,858. Quite a big difference…

It’s all a money issue now, and it looks like USC is willing to cover the difference from OOS to IS for me. Sorry CofC, but your offer was a dealbreaker… :(

ejk, OOS Tuition is 21,846, and room and board averages about 9,000. So yes, 32K, not taking into account other expenses and books.

i got the letter and it said i got $3750, but it said nothing about getting in state tuition…so does that mean i will have to pay out of state fees? because i was told i would get in-state so i’m a little confused.

for those who did get the $16,000 scholarship…what was your GPA/SATS?

i got the in-state tuition + 4000 offer. GPA is 4.0
2-part SAT 1450, 3-part 2200

i had a 4.2 and 1310 and they didnt give me the full instate tuition…so it looks like i wont be going there because of the cost now. too bad, because i was getting excited about going there next year…
