Hi I just found out this website containing information about scholarships offered at Cal Poly Pomona:

Some of it have the deadline of Jan.12, which is tomorrow and I JUST KNEW 
So, do I have to apply in order to be considered for scholarships? Isnât scholarship automatically considered for all applicants?

Also, some of the question in the general application (within the website above) ask whether Iâ'm involved in sports clubs and organizations at the school, but Iâm applying as a freshman this year

Many scholarships on the website are targeted for 2nd year students and above.
you have to apply for any scholarship that you want to be considered for. So no, no you are âautomatically consideredâ.
@Gumbymomâ so you mean first year students often donât get many chances/opportunities for scholarships? I mean the schoolâs tuition is okay compared to other universities, but the total cost is still quite high for my family.
Most Cal States give little merit aid (scholarships). If you are in need of FA, you need to fill out the FASFA to be eligible for Cal Grants, Pell Grants and Stafford Loans which makes up the bulk of aid given by the Cal states.
@MollyN I noticed that some of the scholarships were only for incoming Freshman so look around in there and see about your department etc. I want to apply to one for Ag department so I have to do the general one to be able to get to that one.
