There is an Alec Beck scholarship for children of incarcerated or previously incarcerated parents at the University of Texas. I just found it today.

Finally, I have a plan for next year!

Here are two places you can try. Be sure to speak with the financial aid departments of the colleges you are interested in attending. You may be eligable for a Pell Grant. Good luck.

where can i get more information about delaware’s program? i’m from delaware and helping a friend look for help with tuition

This is actually a really good thing to have scholarships for… never really thought about them before.

Could you please give me some information about the scholarship for delaware students with incarcerated parents that you were referring to? My daughter, who lives in Delaware, has her father in jail and is trying to figure out how to pay for college. Your information would be very helpful. Thanks.

Hi Jamie, I am searching for scholarships to help my very bright 18 year old nephew who has been accepted into a school of Pharmacy. The problem is he does not have the means to go. Considered a dependant student, though he cannot live with his mother due to her anger and addiction issues and a father who has been incarerated the past 15 years. Any ideas? thanks so much… Marie

I am looking for this as well. My father was incarcerated today.
