I know that both of them are free money,
but which one is looked favorably upon admitted students?
Are grants only available to students for their freshman year? while scholarships can be a perennial inflow of aid if he or she meets the minimum academic requirement?

Thanks alot!

Grants are usually need based. They will generally depend each year on your family financial situation.

Scholarships are usually merit based (GPA/SATS/ACTS etc). Each will have their own rules. Some are for one year. Some are renewable so long as you meet the requirements (GPA/number of credit hours etc).
