Hi, I applied to UMD in the RD cycle, not knowing that I would be ineligible for scholarships. Is there absolutely no way whatsoever to receive scholarship money at this point?
You are still eligible for financial aid as an incoming freshman, just not merit scholarships. However, after you matriculate, you can apply for departmental scholarships…typically, you apply in the spring for an award the following year. @running1998 even if you had applied in time it is very difficult to receive any scholarship from UMD, my D who received merit aid from every school she applied and was accepted to expect for UMD, She was accepted into UMD Honors program and was excited about the possibility of attending UMD as it was one of her top choices, but being OOS and no merit aid made it unattainable. Not sure how much the departmental scholarship are but I would imagine they aren’t much. My D received one from one of the schools but it was only for $500 per semester. GL hopefully you have other options with some merit aid.
