Did anyone get the scholarship letter saying theyre invited to a dinner in mid january?? does this mean we’re in??

woah is that for early

i got invited to a merit scholarship thing for the arts program, but im def not interested in the arts so what does that mean?

what kinda of scholarship did you get it for, like what are you stats, and doesn't bucknell let people hear in april, i can't see them actually selecting scholars before their deadline or did you ed?

Son got the same letter - and he applied early decision - Bucknell is giving out merit scholarships for students who want to major in art and or theater. I guess they have a need to fill in those departments - and my son applied for management

i wouldnt say its so much that the school has a need to fill as its the school trying to expand enrollment in the fine arts... an attempt to become a more 'well-rounded' institution. semantics, perhaps, but i guess my point is that its not that the supply of arts applicants has decreased but rather that bucknells demand has increased.

by the numbers: bucknell enrolled 74 intended arts and humanities majors in the class of 2008. that number increased to 92 for the class of 2009 and 129 last year. applications are way up, yield is way up, and acceptance rate has declined... though less than for other university departments.

Wait, I did Early Decision also, and got the same letter about the arts scholarships (although, I too, am uninterested). What does this mean??????

im regular admission...i didnt even hand in my supplement yet!! but i plan on majoring in art history, and i mentioned i started an ap art history program in my school and have studied at the met. i told them about my internship prepping me for a career as an art lawyer. but still....i was shocked to get this letter inviting me to a dinner. does this mean im into the school??

Hmm...if you haven't even submitted your full application yet, maybe this isn't anything that I should get my hopes up about. Can anyone confirm this who hasn't submitted anything and got the same letter?

thanks Eric for the explanation. It seems that the Management program is the most competative with an unbelievable 23% acceptance rate

For all of you who have been through this before, can you give any insight as to when decisions will be made? When will they mail? Does Bucknell put thiese decisions on line or do we wait for snail mail? Size of envelope?

Any insight into these tense days will be appreciated.

Thanks
