School given music scholarships

I know some schools give money to students who show that they are good at music by being in band/orchestra/choirs/etc. Which colleges do this?

Some do…but some give more if you major in music. Sometimes just being in the band only gets you a small amount…usually not enough to compensate for OOS tuition.

What kind of schools are you interested in?

What is your home state?

My DD got $750 a year for being in her college orchestra. She also had private instrument lessons at no cost. She was THRILLED to get these things.

No…it didn’t offset her cost, …but you know…it was something to celebrate anyway!! The OP was asking about music scholarships…not offsetting OOS tuition…at least not on this thread.

The schools I am interested in are the top top colleges like stanford and upenn. I’m living in Florida.

Stanford and UPenn do NOT give merit scholarships for ANY reason. The give need based aid only.
