School of Business Chances

Hey everyone... I'm anxiously waiting to hear from Villanova. It's definitely my first choice. I posted this same topic before... but I feel the need to ehar from people again! What do you think my chances are like?

Both my mother and father were born and raised in Ireland. I was born in the US. I have dual citizenship.

About a week ago, I met with one of the assistant admissions directors (?) and had lunch at Villanova with him, along with my mother and father. I think it went PRETTY good... not excellent, but I was happy. I was able to get this because I have a small connecrtion inside VU..

APs Currently Taking:

Psychology

I am also taking English Honors, taking Spanish V, senior seminar and economics.
I've been playing soccer for my HS 4 years, am in the national honor society, I'm the secretary of the Science Honor Society, treasurer of the soccer club and I'm a delegate for the Student Organization. I'm also a member of the Spanish Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor Society). I am the sales manager of the Event Staff of our school plays and am responsible for calculating profits, expenses and such.

I've been working as a lifeguard since last November and was recently promoted to Pool Manager.

I've been an altar boy since 1998. I now am the leader of the altar servers and serve as their mentor; I teach all new servers how to serve. I also am an assistant teacher for religious education for 1.5 hours a week. I talked about this with my interviewer and was very impressed (because he was a priest or held another religious title).

My essays aren't the strongest, but I thought they were pretty good. I wrote about religiob in my Villanova essay.

What do you guys think? Any feedback is appreciated.

Thanks everyone.

Though things were said about me going there next year, my interviewer was very cautious about things involving my acceptance... he made sure not to give me the idea I was definitely in.

Yeah the admissions officers aren't allowed to say anything. I'm pretty sure I've chanced you before and it's def in your range so you have a good chance. It's not a definite though. Is your GPA weighted or unweighted? And which admissions officer did you meet with?? I'm just curious : )

And also, why do you think your meeting with him went PRETTY good? What makes you think it wasn't great?

I think you definitely have a good chance. You're solidly in the range for Villanova in terms of test scores and GPA. You won't necessarily stand out as far as GPA and SAT scores, but I think other factors will help you. Having a connection is a definite plus. Since you meet the criteria numbers-wise, the connection may easily gain you an acceptance. You also have enough extracurriculars, and the altar boy/church-related things are a definite plus with a religiously affiliated school like nova.

i agree, good chances.

Great chances. I was accepted EA, but I had 5, 4, and 3 on my APs, and my SAT IIs are higher. However, good going with writing about religion on the essay. It's a good way to stand out in an almost always secular crowd.

you think all the applicants to villanova make up a secular crowd? ha

Nah, that's not what I meant. I was talking about the common app essay.
