How hard is it to get into the school of computing at Bloomington? What kind of test scores and GPA do you need to get in for a computer science major? Thanks.
One of my children has graduated from SOIC a few years ago, and one will graduate this year. One was a direct admit. The other was not because she originally started off at IU with a different major. She had the GPA and test scores of a direct admit though. The direct admit had an incoming GPA of above 4.25 and an SAT of about 1400.
First one is admitted to IU. Later, if not a direct admit to SOIC, one applies for admission to the school after some classes are completed. Typically this is at the This page explains more: http://www.soic.indiana.edu/undergraduate/admissions/direct-admissions.html

As an additional bit of info about SOIC–both had/have jobs lined up prior to graduation. One was an Informatics major. The other is a computer science major. I think the career placement rate is similar to the Kelley School of Business rate.
