School of Medicine Guarantee

indicate pre-medicine or bioengineering

to compete for medical school guarentee, applicants must meet the initial eligibility requirements of earning the highest GPA available in their high school in the context of a curriculum showing the greatest academic rigor possible and earning a minimum SAT I score of 1450 (33 ACT)

I have a 33 ACT score, 4.22 GPA, 8 APs, all honors. However, i do not have a 4.0 UW GPA, but I'm top 5%.

Basically, do i have a chance to be selected for an interview? If anyone has any experience with this program please post.

also... instead of posting another thread, will my stats get me into the honors college and get any merit aid?

thanks.

I'm not sure about the med school guarantee process (sorry!), but I think you're almost assured a place in the honors college. As far as merit aid goes, you should definitely apply asap so that you'll have a better chance of receiving a scholarship-I will say, however, that it seems you have a great chance of getting some money (perhaps you might even be in competition for the Chancellor's scholarship.) Good luck!

Good luck, guaranteed med school admission is given out to two students per year. You'll get full tuition scholarship, guaranteed. You'll also get scholarship from whatever school you attend (CAS, ENGR, Nursing).

I had better stats but didn't get Chancellor. Who knows, maybe they lowered their standards this year? Oh, do you have lots of extra curriculars? Chancellor scholarship committee is a sucker for that kind of thing.

hmm i looked on UP's website and it says.. "Historically, an average of 10-15 students from the entering undergraduate class are chosen each year for the School of Medicine Guarantee."

I guess it's assumed that you receive the Chancellor's scholarship.

As for ECs... i have a lot, but they're nothing compared to what i've seen on this site.
