School preparation during this hard period

My son is going to start school next year but I think he is not ready for that. We are not native Americans, we moved here a year ago. I speak only English with him but he has some issues like a language barrier or something like that. I am thinking about any of the good preschools in Brooklyn. Could you recommend any? I heard about Little Scholars childcare center. They say they have a bid education program integrated into an entertaining one, so kids do it with pleasure. I do not know how much will it be to put. him there, but, there is no other way to prepare my son for school. Otherwise, he will feel nervous and lose interest fast.

This is a college forum. I think you might get better answers by finding something more pertinent to preschoolers.

I will add, however. Preschool students use a lot of play and language in their learning. In my opinion, any good preschool program will provide your son with these opportunities. Perhaps ask other parents in your community what they are doing for preschool.

In our area, preschools are having in person instruction.

How old is your son?
Don’t sleep on the NYC DOE 3k-for all and the Pre-K for all especially if you have a great zoned public school.

3k and Pre- K also offers dual language and english language support for children learning English as a New Language

Little kids learn really fast once they are in an English speaking school environment. I have a friend who moved here with a then 1st and 3rd grader, the kids spoke absolutely no English. Both had terrible teary first days, and both were fluent (complete with perfect American accents!) within 6 months of being in school. I understand your concerns, but I think you will find school will be a great immersive medium for his language learning.
