Olivia567:Cyuen, which schools are you applying to?

I got accepted to the hill and cranbrook...gotta choose this weekend...i think there a really good fit for me both...someone help me please....

Cranbrook sounds great, but according to boardingschoolreview, it is only 34% boarding. Based on that, I think The Hill would be a better boarding school experience. When the percent boarding is low, the day school dominates, and it can be quiet during the weekends and holidays. The Hill should have students from all over the country and the world. It's a member of the MAPL, so you'll have the opportunity to participate in prep school rivalries. If you like both equally, I'd go for the stronger boarding life because it will be your home away from home, and you want it to be a great experience. My 2 cents...

I looked at the Cranbrook website quickly. It is a pre-K - 12 school. As a result, some percent of the entering class will already know each other and could have friendships dating back to pre-K. Going to The Hill, everyone starts fresh in 9th grade, so everyone will be looking for new friends.

Exeter '11.

Side note...I had this interesting convo with my cousin when I was asking her where she thought I should go. So she IMed me a convo she had with her friend, an Exeter Graduate:

Cousin: She wants to know if people are happy at Exeter
Exeter alumni: which type?
Exeter alumni: there are 3
Cousin: what are the 3 types?
Exeter alumni: pothead/hippy happy
Exeter alumni: gay happy
Exeter alumni: and oblivious happy
Exeter alumni: i would say all 3 exist

UGHH I feel so bad for not choosing Choate :|. I hate this part of applying!

I assume that they just change polarity at 3 o'clock in order to propel the kids home, right?
