<p>Springfield has the basketball hall of fame and a few good restaurants. However, it is not a very intuitive place to be a visitor, and the hotels are relatively expensive for the quality. Hartford is more of your classic small state capital with retaurants, hotels and shopping near the major hotels. Northampton is a very colorful, artsy college town with more restaurants per capita than any other town in the state. If you are just looking for easy on easy off West Springfield has hotels, retaurants and shopping plaza right off the highway.</p>
<p>Thanks baystateresident and 1012mom. I would like to stay close to Taft/Choate. Is Northampton closer to any of these schools?</p>
<p>@GreatNWdad, You know that Choate has it’s own lodge on campus called the Sally Hart lodge.
Northampton is close to Deerfield.</p>
<p>Thanks 1012mom. I have narrowed down the cities where I will be staying. As every one suggested, I will be staying in Northamton (for DA interview) and Concord, MA to be closer to Middlesex, Andover and Exeter. Still undecided where to stay in CT as my sons have interviews at Taft and Choate the day before I go to DA.</p>
<p>Then I would just stay at Choate (Sally Hart Lodge)- it is not that far from Taft!</p>
