<p>Well, the nice thing about MIT (and probably tech schools in general) is that everyone, engineering or not, is part of the tech school culture, so engineering doesn’t give you extra stigma. A female (or male) engineer is not regarded significantly differently than a female (or male) scientist, or architect, for instance. “We’re all MIT students.” Now, what outsiders think is a different matter, but whatever.</p>
