Schools for Students with Learning Disabilities

Can anyone recommend a resource to find out schools located in the Northeast that have the best support programs for students with Learning Disabilities?

There’s an LD forum on CC that has some info-- I remember seeing Curry College mentioned…I think there are a number of posts on that subject over there. (Go to Discussion Home to find the forum).

Marist and McDaniel are frequently recommended.

CC won’t let me link to a useful resource on another site (surprise, surprise), so here’s the list:

The spamanator got that one IB…post it again as a separate word for each…

^
Yeah, I noticed. I decided to just post the list instead.

UVM also has a program - - but beware, at many of the special programs you’ll have to cough up a kidney - - on top of tuition and other standard fees.

Fairleigh Dickinson (not on the list) has a free program.

Depending on what OP is seeking in terms of “support,” a special program may be unnecessary. All schools have disability offices and make some accommodations. D is at a top LAC (one w/o a special prgram) and has not needed services, assistance or accommodatrion beyond what the disability office offers.

Also, services and programming will vary depending on LD is defined. For some of the special programs, LD is short for learning difference (as opposed to learning disabled) - - which includes ADD/ADHD. But while ADD/ADHD impacts a students academic performance, it is not a true learning disability. Therefore, if the program is limited the learning and physically disabled, ADD/ADHD students may not not qualify for the programs services.
