<p>If you include schools that give merit scholarships, I think you’re very, very likely to get at least $10K a year from many of the pricier schools given your ACT score. Maybe more. You’re in the delightful (from the school’s perspective) category of kids whose resources can pay for most of the costs of college – it doesn’t take a big merit scholarship to make a $52K a year school viable for a student who can handle a $40K annual cost. </p>
<p>Are you by chance a National Merit Finalist?</p>
<p>Emory and Tulane have both given lots of students from our high school merit scholarships in the $10-20K range for ACT scores in the 30-33 range. Some students have gotten more. American is even more generous on the merit front. </p>
<p>If you do one thing this summer while you’re at camp – start working on those college essays, particularly since you’ll be so busy this fall.</p>
