Schools to look at /Chances (Exeter,TJ,Choate)

Hello. I’m currently attending a private middle school and am going into 8th grade. Im going to be taking geometry in the fall and have all A’s in my classes. I do many sports and am on a national sports team (junior/youth). I’ve been taking prep classes for TJ, as I’ve heard that they help with the SSAT which I will be taking along with the actual TJHSST. My dream schools are Exeter and Choate. I recieved a 94th percentile in an SSAT practice test as well. Please note that what I listed above are not at all near the list of achievements I have, but those are irrelevant for my question. I want to know, what schools should I be looking at, east coast specifically for boarding schools, coed or all girls. What are some things to focus on (not specifically towards me but in general) for those schools, and any other helpful reviews or experiences from other schools (possibly someone from Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Tech?)
please excuse any punctuation or grammatical errors

forgot to add: day schools in the DMV area as well would be things id be looking at. I was also wondering what are some other all girls boarding schools that are highly ranked??

you could probably get in for athletics, if you’re on a national team!

hi, current rising senior at TJ here. if you are seriously considering TJ and these other schools, I would focus on extracurriculars, as it seems that you’re really strong academically and athletically. TJ in my opinion (and probably the other schools) also really value the essay and teacher recommendation aspects of the admissions process, as TJ doesn’t have an interview, and this is the way the admissions committee gets to know you as a person. i know my answer is pretty vague without specific details, but if you have any other questions i’d be glad to answer!

TJ class of '14 here. I would recommend getting involved in STEM in some way at your middle school. This is something that TJ tends to look for because they want students that are genuinely interested in STEM, not just . For example, I tutored the algebra students a couple times, was also involved in math competitions, helped out my geometry teacher after school. Make sure you do well in your STEM courses so that you can get an excellent rec from one of them. I used my geometry and french teachers and I definitely think those recs are mostly what got me in; I was one of their favorite students for both of them. Also, don’t shy away from the rest of your extracurriculars and keep them going. Being an athlete at that level will definitely help because it shows your ability to balance and manage your time well when combined with your grades.
