<p>Alot of the Linfielders do their study abroad in jan term. Mine spent his first jan term at home (entered school with credits) and realised or thought he was missing out not being on campus for jan term. The next two terms he took a class or two and slept alot and the last year, he mastered halo for all I know.</p>
<p>U of San Diego has a January 'intersession' as part of their 4-1-4.</p>
<p>^^ now that would be a jan term exchange my DDs would be interested in :-)</p>

<p>I think Bates has an unusual calendar that is 4-4-1, with their short one course term coming at the end of the year.</p>
<p>This term is mandatory at Williams, and one of the benefits is a lighter course load during the semesters. I know D is green with envy as she takes five courses, and he four.</p>

<p>Ohio University has something like this, but it's Thanksgiving through New Year's Day. Most kids go home and work. The school does have some study abroad programs at that time. I don't like it because I would want to spend the holidays with my student. This would be more of a 3-1-5 schedule.</p>
