Do any of these schools waive the application fee if you apply online?

how hard are Reed, Lawrence and Harvey-Mudd to get into? I know a little about Harvey-Mudd. I hear its an amazing school and gets very few applicants for its quality so they give a lot of attention to each application (good for someone like me with, um, a nuanced transcript). I'm just not sure its worth the time an money cause my grades are horrible from freshman and sophomore year. For instance, last year I had an average of 92, but my overall average is 87. My sats are 1460 (740M + 720V), writing 790, math iic 800, and physics 780. excellent recs, i think. one major ec (debate) that I devoted all of the first three years of high school to and an entire non-stop month of summer for two summers each. like I said, its nuanced

lol, and cornell, I applied ED and got REJECTED heh

Run dont walk to Harvey Mudd; you'd also have the whole 5 colleges to explore there.

At Lawrence you would probably qualify for merit aid on SATs alone. My D has 1350, all SAT2's are high 600's, and 3.86(w) and she qualifies for some merit programs...

Reed might be great for you; quirky & individualistic.

Why not try these three? Where else have you applied RD?

Definitely look into Lawrence, Reed, Harvey Mudd and Case Western. You should be in at Lawrence; Harvey Mudd is unlikely. Reed and Case iffy.

Some good state US are still accepting apps - Maryland, Wisconsin, but check their websites for acceptance criteria. Your gpa will be a problem at several of them.

Why were your freshman and sophmore grades weak?

collegebound123--no fee for Drexel with on-line app

isn't Georgetown the 10th?

Wellesley's application fee is waived if you apply online.

My GPA for all courses is 3.39 and for core courses only (english, math, social sciences, sciences, other APs not covered there) is 3.27. Dropping freshmen year grades, those two GPAs become 3.64 and 3.55. Just a quick aside, U mich drops freshmen year grades, right?

I'd go with Washington (st. louis), Cornell, and Georgetown. they're all top 25.

Be careful Oberlin is Jan 2, with other materials required on the 15th

^

Seriously? Whoa. I missed it. I thought everything was on the 15th.

Ah, well, still sending it anyway.

Do any of these schools waive the application fee if you apply online?

Yes, Carleton does

Try Occidental.

The Tufts supplemental form was due on the first, but the common app is due on the 10th. They do take late apps (not officially stated).

You might want to do Reed... it's not very hard to get into (admit rate was around 70% last year) and it's a pretty good school. By the way, Rice apps are due January 10 this year for some reason

Admit rate at Reed last year was 47%, approximately the same as the previous year.

Heh. Sorry. Maybe I was thinking about the admit rate from my school (a lot of people here go to Reed).

Haverford and Bryn Mawr are January 15 and Grinnell is the 20th

University of Toronto's deadline is March 1 for just about everything besides engineering/applied sciences and music (the deadline for that is Feb 1).
