Schools with excellent history and international relations department

I will major in History and minor in International Relations eventually working in international politics or law. Additionally, I would like to study Chinese (Mandarin) and Arabic; both languages fascinate me and will be necessary for economics in the future. Can someone give me a list of schools that fulfill my academic goals? Preferably schools on the Eastern seaboard and as far west as Illinois

I have an unconventional choice for you.

St Andrews University in Scotland

Very good for international relations.

The Rhodes history and IS departments are great. Good prelaw advising and a great mock trial team. Chinese and Arabic are offered (though not as a major or minor). It’s inside your geographic boundaries. We’ve got a ton of alumni who are lawyers, and a fair number working in foreign service.

What are your stats?

On the east coast, Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Columbia, and Johns Hopkins are probably the schools that are strongest in both IR and History. I believe you would be able to get a great education in Chinese and Arabic at any of these.

Georgetown school of foreign service!

Also Duke and Cornell.

Any of the three big DC schools (Georgetown, GW, American) are great in IR, also consider Tufts, Penn, University of Michigan, William and Mary, Columbia, Yale, and Princeton.
Would be helpful to know your stats, as these schools are extremely selective

Former Sec of State Madeline Albright said William & Mary had the best IR dept around. I would also look at Davidson as well.
