I was wondering what exactly is a science abstract? Also, I have never been involved in research but I have cool lab reports... Could I submit a condensed lab report? I already turned in my application, but I might want to just email it to them or something... How would I go about doing an abstract since the deadline was extended?

If you do not know what a science abstract is, you have not reached the achievement level in science where your submission will favorably influence an admission decision. In fact, sending in your class work will hurt your application. Don’t do it. Only students with original, mentored research – preferably published or having won major awards – should be sending in academic papers or abstracts of such papers to an Ivy League school like Columbia. Your “cool lab reports” will only be met with derision, unless those “cool lab reports” won you an Intel or Siemans award. And if they had, you would know the meaning of “science abstract.” That is the level expected of submissions. Sending in your “cool lab reports” would be akin to sending in a book summary done for your English class. Really!
