Science AND Theater -> HELP!

Hello world,

I'm a junior in high school currently searching for a college with a sort of weird goal in mind -- I want to get a B.S. in a biological field (maybe biochemistry, maybe neuroscience) AND either get a B.A. in Theater Arts or minor in it. I want to find a college that has really good programs for both, but I don't really know where to look. If it's helpful for you to know, my goal is to attend medical school, but I love love love theater and really want to pursue it in college.

Some facts about me:
Hyper-science nerd (taking 5 science classes in school this year)
3.9 - 4.0 unweighted GPA
770 on Math II, 750 on Chemistry (retaking one or both probably)
Taking SATs in November -- hope to get a 2300+ (we'll see how that goes!)
Lots of extracurriculars (including an internship at a professional theater) but not anything really extraordinary, at least in my opinion
White male fluent in English & Italian
This is a big one -- no real theater experience other than my school's drama club :(!!!

I'd love to attend an Ivy, but I'm really open to anything. I like urban settings and would prefer a college in the Northeast.

Thank you so much for any help you can give me!!

Theatre Tech, Design, or Performance?

What is your budget like?

One place with both excellent science and theatre would be Carnegie Mellon.

Another option is the University of Rochester, extremely well known for science and research opportunities…but also has a fine theater program, housed in the English Dept. My d was a double major, music and english/concentration in theater, but if not interested in the theater coursework, you can still participate in shows and student theater productions as well.

Maybe NYU??

There are plenty of schools that have good drama programs in addition to great science. What you want to watch out for is schools that are so well known for drama that there are lots of theatre/drama majors hogging all the roles in the productions. So you will need to ask lots of questions about who has access to the productions.
Also, you may find good and accessible drama programs in places you wouldn’t expect.
An example I am familiar with is WPI. It’s an engineering/science school yet is has surprisingly good drama and music programs, but no theatre majors  (You can major in Humanities/Arts with a concentration in theatre arts, but I bet that is done rarely).
So keep your mind open when looking at schools, don’t assume a school wouldn’t have a good drama program until you find out more…
What other criteria matter to you? Location, financial aid, sports, Greek life etc…

I’m going to again rep my (hopefully) future school. Northwestern’s top ranked, great at everything, but specifically has a GREAT theater program.

[List of Northwestern University alumni - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](<a href=“List of Northwestern University alumni - Wikipedia”>List of Northwestern University alumni - Wikipedia) is a list of famous alumni there, and that should direct you to the Arts, Entertainment, and Theater section. While you’re on that page look at the famous Medical people. Charles Mayo for one (As in the Mayo Institute) is a famous alumni, but there are plenty more. It’s near Ivy League quality (Ranked right up there, top 20 every year for quite some time I believe), near Chicago, but in a suburb of Chicago (Evanston), and is in the Midwest, so it’s North, but not Northeast.
