Some will say science, others will say religion. Frankly, I'm not too curious about either point of view.

I think I’d rather fight my stance to the death, and ultimately accomplish nothing.

People who think science ultimately wins are ignorant. People who think religion is the answer to everything are ignorant.

People are ignorant.

Everyone on either sides or even the middle of this argument should read “The Grand Design” by Stephen Hawking. It’s very interesting

I’ve always wanted to ask Mr. Hawking:

“If time, space, matter, energy, symmetry, proportion, and the ability to perceive and respond to such elements of existence came from nothing, then what is the originator of nothing?”

…this is why I am agnostic.

There is already a thread for this discussion, and it is quite active.

Actually people who allow themselves to develop opinions without falling in love with their own opinions win regardless of the side on which their opinion falls. They actually have the liberating experience of occasionally getting to change their minds. It’s those who choose their sides and then try to come up with arguments to justify them who lose.

I remember as a kid being at a discussion at our church when one of the church ladies turned to the minister and said “Pastor Bob, I forget . . . what is it that we believe about that?” Even as a little kid I could tell that there was something fundamentally wrong there.

I think Hawking said it had to do with Physics. Not saying I agree or disagree.

“Because there is a law such as gravity, the universe can and will create itself from nothing. Spontaneous creation is the reason there is something rather than nothing, why the universe exists, why we exist,” Hawking writes.

“It is not necessary to invoke God to light the blue touch paper and set the universe going.”

[God did not create the universe, says Hawking - Yahoo! News](http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20100902/lf_nm_life/us_britain_hawking)

^ Although that “because” leave the problem of where the laws such as gravity came from…

Public Service Announcement: It’s impossible for religion, science, philosophy, or math to explain why something (or even nothing) exists. The only possible solution is CHUCK NORRIS!

lol admittedly i’m so tired of this debate that i see a point in you this time

Debate is hard. Let’s go shopping!

^ I agree.
