When my daughter applied to Macalester, she was most interested in studying languages and other countries' histories and societies. However, now she says she might want to study a science. How are the science departments at Mac?

The science departments are good, particularly biology and chemistry. I'm currently studying for a big exam, or else I would look for some articles that go into more detail!
Anyway, if your daughter wants to major in science while still learning about other countries, or if she's still trying to decide what she wants to study, Mac is a good spot for that. The school's focus on internationalism tends to flow into every department, and like most liberal arts colleges you can easily take classes in a range of departments here.
I'm sorry I can't give you more details. Send me a message if you have any more questions: I promise in a week I'll be a lot more helpful!
