But surely knowing AP scores a few weeks early is worth $570...

The sad thing is that I'm sure to some people, somewhere, it totally is.

The CB has excellent ways of marketing their services.......u knw it violates child rights when they exploit us in this manner.

It's ridiculous that they charge $8 to view scores on-line -- particularly when they charge so much just to take the exams.

I... will... wait... for... my... mailman...

Not that I can find my parents' credit card anyway.

@DON HO
its $8 to call and hear ur scores not view them online

Is AP scholar for a 5 on the test?
Thanks for any thoughts!

No. There are different scholar designations for different combinations of scores. Here is a link:

Advanced Placement Awards - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I personally think it's pretty unfair that it takes a jump from 5 to 8 to get to National AP scholar. I'll be taking 7 tests, and it's just a bit of a kick in the face, that's all.

I am unaware of anything concrete (other than a certificate) that comes with the designations. It won't bring acceptances or scholarship money. If you got 5's on 7 exams, that in & of itself is an accomplishment that stands on its own. If you did incredibly well on 7 exams ... not having the 8th doesn't make a whit of difference to your life. Other than a few people telling you congratulations if they happen to hear about the AP designation, it's just a title.

seriously, AP distinction means nothing. The awards/titles are just another attempt by the collegeboard to make you take more tests and give them more $$. In my opinion, at least.

^^ yeah thats true
all u get is a pretty piece of paper with words in the mail that subliminally say "TAKE MORE TESTS! WE LOVE $85!"

I. Am. Dying. On. The. Inside.

Where are you, my mailman?

my friend in california recieved theirs, ughh why do i live in floridaaa?!

^^^^^^^
WHOA! They already got theirs?!?!

I'm in NorCal.. no AP grades in the mail yet.

Why do people in west coast get theirs scores earlier?? I thought CB's headquarters was in NY....or NJ or something

argh cb really ****es me of with the charges in the exam. i dont qualify for none of the financial aid for APs in my school. im taking 7 exams which is about 560 dollars this year. i spent already 200 dollars on AP and SAT prep. argh this is so frustrating. but it is all worthwhile when u pass with awards and rewards.

yeah they did, its funny cuz they called two days ago haha

I've heard they were in Princeton, NJ, but apparently they're either not, or they just send scores from somewhere on the West Coast.

Blllllehhh WHY do I have to live in GA?!

Last year, I received my scores the same day that many students in Illinois did, and I'm in southern California.

Seriously, trying to find a pattern of who gets scores when is just too complicated.
