After the College Board took over two weeks to send my daughter’s SAT scores to her Early Action schools, I told her that she should just request that they send scores to the 10 to 12 schools that she is thinking about applying for Regular Decision. She sent to all except Chicago, Johns Hopkins and Northwestern because she wasn’t sure about their score choice policies from their websites. Chicago “recommends” sending all scores. Johns Hopkins “encourages” applicants to send all scores and Northwestern appears to be silent on the issue. Any insight would be appreciated.
They allow score choice. Many colleges that allow score choice recommend or encourage, but do not require, sending all scores because they superscore the SAT test, meaning if you send more than one they use the highest section scores from the multiple test to determine admission, and thus it can be to your advantage to send all scores. There are actually only 20 colleges (12 if you count the all the UCs as one) that have an actual anti-score rule requiring you to send all scores and the three you mention are not among them.
