So i signed up for three subject tests.
However, as June 6 approaches i am feeling that i regret doing so and am only prepared for 3.
With score choice, would it hurt to take three, because i can send individual tests?

Some schools don’t want you to use score choice, so you should check with the individual schools you’re interested in applying to.

If you take all three on the same day you can’t use score choice. Obviously you can choose not to send them (for some schools anyway), but if you do choose to send one, then you HAVE to send all three of them. This is to prevent people from signing up for three tests (3 hrs worth of test time) and using the whole three hours for two tests while bombing the third, and then sending only the two test scores to colleges. So in short, you can choose to not send any of them or you can choose to send all of them. But some schools don’t even allow scorechoice, so I would check up on the individual colleges to make sure.

Actually, you can choose individual subject tests to send:

yea but how do schools know that you use score choice?
cb says they dont indicate it do they?

Well, to apply to a school, you need to send your scores from the Collegeboard website for a fee. Thus, the page to send your score, let’s say to Stanford, will not have an option that says “Pick which scores you want to send.”

oh okay thanks

so when u say, apply to stanford, they see all the times yoou took a certain SAT II? even if its the same one? like u could send 5 of the same subject test or only send your best one

I had the same question as the OP. I am taking three in June, as well. I am well-prepared for two, and so-so on the other. I looked at CB’s website and I read that you can send individual tests, but then I read Kaplan’s SAT II Literature Prep Book and it said to be sure that you were well-prepared in all tests because you had to send them all in a package. I’d really appreciate some input!

i think everyone is pretty much confused on this b/c score choice starts only from next year…but even if you do have to send in all your scores, the colleges just pick the 3 (or how ever many the college wants) best right??

Again, that depends on the college.

Basically, when you send your scores to (let’s say Stanford), they see ALL your grades, including make ups, how many times you took the SAT, etc. Some colleges (like most UCs) only look at the top two Subject Test Scores, and that’s it.

right, but for schools like stanford, who see all your test scores…they only judge you by the best…if you have more than the needed amount…but they see all of them…that’s what i thought…

Everyone knows these colleges said they don’t accept Score Choice, but you can still use it (against their wishes.)

if u can use it (against their wishes) how do they find out or know about it?

I have heard nothing that suggests that they can find out if you used score choice.

Colleges will know, one way or another.

How? 10char

Update: Just called CB. You can send results by subject, not test day.

so basically even if colleges request for all your scores, they won’t ever know?
has anyone tried this and seen for sure that this is the case?

okay i would like to know that too…but originally,

will colleges see if youve taken a SAT II more than once or only best score or is it up to you
