Time is running out for ED applicants and I wanted to ask anyone knows about test reporting, specifically regarding Columbia University. I’m planning to send my one and only ACT score and my subject test/AP scores. I am scheduled to retake one of the subject tests on November 5th.
Columbia’s website says that November test scores will be accepted from ED applicants. I spoke with an admissions representative over the phone, and it seems as though they may or may not receive the November test score on time since there isn’t an absolute deadline for score reporting. She told me that if the score is sent by mid-November, it will arrive on time. However, my score won’t be available until Nov. XX. Should i send all of the existing scores (ACT, etc.) and then send just the new score once it is available? Or do I have to send all scores at once?
Send all of your scores now; at least they will have some if not all. Also, if you have not yet already, mark on your November score that you want it sent to the college ASAP (although this does mean that the score will be sent before you get a chance to see whether they are any good or not, so be careful with this option). Typically, colleges’ policies on November testing in the ED round is that if the score reaches them before they read your app, it will be counted, and if it doesn’t, then it won’t.
thanks. So if the new score is sent in “blindly,” and it ends up lower then the old one (I doubt it will), then the old score can still be considered right? It’s not like it’s replaced?
