Scores by phone

If the posted date is July 3, is it likely that they will be posted by July 1? I know they post them a bit early every year.

I'm going on vacation and would like to see them before I leave.

Though the CollegeBoard/AP Central pages say that you cannot get scores by phone until the 1st or 3rd, that wasn’t the case last year.
I called by phone on June 23rd to see how the function worked and what information I would need to provide. I dialed in all of the information, including my AP #, and then the automated voice told me my scores! I was shocked at first, in disbelief that I was hearing scores a week prior to the date the site indicated. I dialed the repeat # to hear them again, and lo and behold, they were the same (my scorecard by mail reinforced this).
I wonder if CollegeBoard says that date to ensure that the majority of scores for the majority of exams will have been processed and available… I will be calling early again this year. What’s the worst that could happen? The automated voice tells me I cannot dial in my credit card information because the scores are not yet available.

thats pretty awesome. what do you think would happen if some scores were avaialable, but your werent. would u get charged?

I’m pretty sure that you would be charged even if all your scores weren’t available.

but if none of your scores were?

(but others have been uploaded)

how about late exam scores by phone?
i took 2 regular and 1 late, so i wanna wait till the late one comes out by phone, then maybe i’ll call
any info on the date?

idk, but definitely dont call before the posted date.

Why cant we call earlier?
What’s wrong with that?

^ i guess they might not all be available?
and June 23rd? no way. i called like the 25th and they weren’t available. they were, however, available for me when i called like the 27th or 28th or something.

But how would you get “Charged”
Huh?

let’s get some predictions going for when the scores will be up next year! I called last year just cause i was dying to know if I failed apush, but this year I have to because my orientation is on the 17th, which is before scores come in the mail in my area of ny =/

wheatbread, I am 100% serious. I was so shocked that I did hear my scores, and they were indeed the same as the ones printed on my booklet that I got about 3 weeks later.

What does we might get charged mean?!

Come on jzhang722, why would a non-profit organization like Collegeboard not charge money for you to hear your scores over the phone! After all, the labor in pulling your score from a computer is reasonable enough to charge you $8! You just give them your 16 digit credit card # on the phone and it’s as easy as that! No harm done! They already have all the scores loaded in the database, and it’s a bigger deal to tell you on the phone 3 weeks in advance rather than mailing you a #!

Seriously though it’s the most ridiculous charge Collegeboard does. They already charge $86 for each AP exam, and they just want to make a couple of million from eager people who want their scores early. Do what the above guy said, try and get it early and not pay, that’s what it should be honestly. I remember that Collegeboard used to do this for the SAT where you could get your scores early, but they stopped it after controversy, but looks like the AP Exams haven’t been noticed yet and nervous hardworking students will keep paying up to hear one syllable! I’m waiting 3 weeks though no matter the temptation, or I’ll keep dialing the automated phone service until the glitch gives me the score for free!

OH charged as in 8 dollars…
You guys made it sound like being sued LOL.

^ funny …:)

last year they were definitely available before june 27th. because it was my school’s graduation, and i told my teachers what i got on my APs.

has anyone tried calling yet? :P

hahaha…

Last year’s first report of AP score availability is here:

1:18 PM on June 27. If you follow the prior posts on the thread, you’ll see scores were unavailable until that time.
