Screwed up mid years

if i got a D and a C my first semester of senior year, does that automatically give me no chance? just give me an honest answer cause i don’t really care too much. i just want the truth!

Yeah, you basically have no chance. But if you really really like Brown, maybe apply as a transfer next year(do they look at high school grades for transfers?)

its fine. I got a D for my final exams and I got my teacher to write a letter to them to explain my grade is not my usual standard. brown sent me a letter saying they're not happy with my grade, sent one to my high school counselor as well, but said they still believe in my ability to do well at brown and will not rescind my application. and im at brown now! it was a stern letter though :(

yeah, but did the OP say they were already accepted? I dont think so. And Brown may not have rescinded your acceptance, but in all likelyhood you wouldnt have been accepted with a D and C for semester grades (which is important than a final exam grade)

i guess if you had a real reason for getting that C or D and you actually explained it to them...then you could be okay. for example, if your grandfather had passed away or something and you went into a depressive state which effected your grades, then if you explained it to them they would understand. if you have no excuse, then sorry...no.

what if I got a C in Mathematics last quarter? All my other grades were fine. **** !

in mathematics? be more specific. was this an honors class? AP? this matters.

hah ****...I wonder if they consider the course rigor. I got a C+ in O-Chem

pfft, sak. they're C's and D's, not B's C's. you're gonna need a cloooooose uncle at the very least. i mean, we're talking a parent preferably, but a sibling will hella do.

besta luck, bman.

i got a c+ in ap calc
