Hello, I’m a transfer student looking to attend SDSU this Fall 2020. When I am on my SDSU AidLink, it states I have to send a tax return transcript from the IRS yet when I try to do so the IRS requests a “CUSTOMER FILE NUMBER” that is supposed to be provided by SDSU. I do not know how to find this number to submit it. I’ve been struggling with this for weeks and the Finance department at SDSU is closed and has not responded to my email. I would appreciate any assistance anyone can give me.
Have you tried going directly to the IRS website instead of going through the college link?
When you did your FAFSA, did you not do the IRS Data retrieval tool to import the info from your tax return? If not…why?
If you are able to amend your FAFSA and use the DRT, maybe this will help. In the meantime…keep calling.
You can request a tax transcript from the IRS. I’ve never heard if this number. My question would be…what would someone not attending college do?
