SDSU Transfer Decisions Thread Fall 2017

I’m so nervous!!! Hopefully we all see some results soon! Good luck everyone!!

Still waiting and getting more anxious each day. SDSU is my top choice!

Major: Foods & Nutrition
GPA: 3.76
AA-T/AS-T?: Not offered at my CC
Pre-reqs: All but the ones that aren’t offered in my area
Golden 4: Completed with all A’s
SD Area?: No, but I am located in California.

I can’t believe it’s finally March! I hope they keep their promise of letting us know in early March. Good luck to everyone!

We’ll last years batch of letter come out Thursday the 3rd last year. So if we haven’t heard anything today it will probably be tomorrow or next Monday.

@pomeranian4rich not to be negative (i’m no expert on the matter), but it seems that all the acceptances have already gone out. On my email for being waitlisted, it said that over 57,000 people applied and they only had 5,300 spaces to fill. Being on the waitlist is basically the same as being rejected because only a small percentage get in from the waitlist.

Not to say hope isn’t still alive, you could still get good news, but at this point, chances of getting in are slim.

Wow I got lucky and I’m thinking about declining my admission to SLO.

@jonathaanv that’s interesting… 57000 applicants? Are you a transfer or freshman applicant? I didn’t know slo would get 57,000 transfer applicants. Maybe you were mistaken as a freshman applicant if you’re a transfer applicant. I didn’t expect slo to get back until early April. Seems really weird.

@pomeranian4rich I’m a transfer applicant. Idk if the 57,000 are transfer only applications or the combination of freshman and transfers. SLO releases their responses in late February. Most people have already gotten news of being accepted or waitlisted. Rejections usually come last in march.

@jonathaanv on this site: https://admissions.calpoly.edu/applicants/mycalpoly/seltime.html it says we’ll receive our admission in April

@pomeranian4rich that’s the final day that they will be making decisions. I called SLO while being stuck in “no determination hell” and they said that they’ll be releasing decisions up until then (they’ll most likely be done deciding who is in and who is out before then). Check out the SLO transfer thread. Most people already got their responses. There’s only a few left still waiting as far as those who are on this site.

You might actually have a higher chance! As an out-of-state or international student you pay a lot more than the in-state students. Schools want money and in most cases have lower requirements for students paying the out-of-state tuition

@jonathaanv Man, I didn’t know slo was that competitive??? can’t believe most people are getting waitlist and I still haven’t heard back.

I got admitted!!!
I think being local has a huge impact!!!
I’m so excited!! Wooo!
Will post my info after I’m done with class

OK, so I’ve been going crazy because of my low gpa and the fact that business administration is one of the most heavily impacted majors at State.

So here I will hopefully put some people’s mind at ease.

I’m a business admin major that applied with an emphasis in Accounting.
2.98 gpa and all my classes completed except for three pre reqs (not two) to be finished this semester.

If you’re gpa is low like mine, and are from San Diego it is best you emphasize in something if your a business major.

Yes it’s all anecdotal but from three people I know and various internet sites, having a specialty puts you in priority and your chances increase dramatically.
A total of 8 people that I’ve seen have gotten in with a bare minimum gpa.
Don’t lose hope or be discouraged !

Good luck everyone!!

I got in!!

To everyone who got in:

Are you finding out through email or are you constantly checking your Webportal?

Congrats! Did you find out via email? Or by logging into the Portal? I keep checking the Portal like crazy!
