See page two for a list of the applicants to date.

Some look impressive…some don’t. An impressive CV is only the start…

I’m leaning towards an external hire who can complete the the AAU process and raise a few billion for the university. ;)

How does a middle school teacher think she can compete for the job?

Watch the FSU trustees select a new president soon, then trustee Chairman Jim Smith leave board of trustees, then a shakeup of board of trustees with new trustees, then new president quit after only 2 years, and then new trustees have to hire a new president who will serve FSU well for many years. Bobby Bowden will still be head football coach!

Wishful thinking on the part of the middle school teacher. It’d be fun to see her interact with a [Dr. Holton](http://www.sptimes.com/2005/12/25/news_pf/State/Keep_your_millions__F.shtml), for example.

Seriously, FSU trustees come and go slowly. Bowden is gone this year or next, regardless of if his wife thinks FSU owes him a few billion. An interim president is not out of the picture.

Funny, when I glanced at the list of 17 names I kinda got a feeling too FSU might go with an interim president. I’d bet there is a short list of names floating in the background too not public yet. Even though there is the sunshine law, I guess things can still be done sort of on the hush. There will surely be some other strong candidates surface just before the Dec. 1 deadline for submissions.

Dr. Horton sounds like a piece of work. His money could grease over a lot of friction though.
