Searching For A Good College

I'm looking for a college, preferably on the East Coast, that has a good marine biology program, and a good mathematics/computer science program as well. If anyone knows of such a school, please let me know.

What can your family afford? What are your stats?

As far as what my family can afford, Ivy League and MIT are probably out of the way. But other than that, I have a 30 ACT composite (haven’t taken SAT) and a 3.8 GPA with 15th in class rank.

Oops. Forgot to mention 15th was in the top ten percent.

Take the SAT and then you can be a little more realistic on your school list.

Take a look at Bowdoin for marine bio - they have a marine science center about 10 minutes from campus on the coast. And it’s SAT optional. Eckard College in Florida, is less competitive and offers marine science as a major.

If you can’t afford the Ivies or MIT then you can’t afford many/most private schools. There isn’t a great deal of difference in cost for private Us (some people will debate what a great deal is). I thought of U of Miami for marine biology but it costs $56K/year. Florida State would cost $40K+/year. What is your home state?

Also Boston University, Rutgers and South Carolina. Best of luck!
