Sec.School Report, Midyear, Final Year -- for Singapore school

<p>Hi all,</p>

<p>I am a JC 2 (=grade 12th in the US) student.
Singapore's school year starts in January and ends in November.
In the US, school year starts in August and ends in May.
If I am correct, Mid-year report for a US senior high school student needs only to be
submitted next Febuary, and Final year report submitted when the student is accepted
by a college in April or something.</p>

<p>Therefore, I strive to emulate the kind of results that adcoms want to know from my
Singapore education perspective.</p>

<p>I have just taken my IB examinations; the official results are only available in the coming January.
Currently, I am thinking of filling in the forms above this way:
+ Secondary School Report: all midyear and final year grades from my Sec 3 (=K9) to JC1 (=K11) ;
+ Mid-year: this year's Mid-year test (called Common Test here, it took place in July)
+ Final year: my predicted grades for IB</p>

<p>Is that correct?
Or should I leave out Final Year, and change the other reports? >_<</p>

<p>Any help is appreciated in debugging this Common App thing!

<p>Hmm I would recommend asking your college counselor or asking your J3 seniors. The school might already have a policy in place? Or try asking your peers as well. I can only think of 2 IB candidates on this forum, and they’re both J2. I know a J3 senior who you could ask, if you’re thick-skinned lol. PM me?</p>

<p>Hi fiona<em>! :") My school does not have any specific regulations with regards to university application at all. Everyone’s doing as his/her pleases: what to put in, how to include results, etc… Both a bane and a boon I figure.
I am the second batch to graduate actually. I heard that some seniors of mine:

  • scanned the school report (we don’t exactly have an official transcript for each student, only the Pupil’s Recrod ></em><) for Sec 3 - JC 1 and put that under Secondary School Report
  • scanned the report for this year’s midyear test and put that under midyear report
  • waited until official IB results was available this Jan, then immediately sent true copies as Final Year Result
  • the predicted grades are populated onto the International Supplement form :-S
    hahaha, that way thing sounds pretty clear. How do you fill in yours at your school?
    The student transcript especially – I am stapling the scanned student term reports
    behind each COmmonApp school form, not filling in the latter itself. Is that OK?</p>

<p>Oh yeah, there’s the mailing problem: are you using speedpost service from SingaporePost? Quite a range of choices there – I’m calling them tomorrow for help. T_T</p>
