Well rush week is finished and I didn’t end up with any bids. I heard there is a second round rush week where some fraternities look for more potential rushes to fill up their pledge class. Is this true? And how many fraternities participate in this. I’d be interested to look into to some that I haven’t even looked into before.
I don’t believe so. There maybe a handful of houses that didn’t get enough pledges, but it would be more informal for them to pick up few more people. I think you will probably need to wait until next fall.
To the OP, the recruitment website refers to a “second round” just as you have said. Some houses may not get enough responses to their bids and will need more people however, they don’t necessarily announce this. Through official channels, you could contact the IFC and see if they can refer you to houses looking for more members, or as in everything else in life, you can see what information you can get through the grapevine (eg. dorm residents, people in your classes etc.) to see if they know anything. If you know any upperclassmen in a house, they may know if any other houses are looking for members.
If you are lucky maybe you can find a place that still needs members that appeals to you.
