Seeking Advice: Dropping Spring Semester & Transferring in Fall

You don’t want to “drop out” you want to “take a leave of absence”. This will maintain your standing at your current institution. The effect is essentially the same, but it sounds a lot nicer. “I’m on leave from CW Post so that I can do X this semester.” as opposed to “I dropped out of CW Post because I hate it there.”

If you are concerned about whether the credits from Australia would transfer, you should contact the program coordinators and ask what they have observed in the case of previous students. I really like Australia, and think it would be great fun to spend a semester there! However, you are the one who is looking at your own budget. Maybe you do need to get a job and save money while you apply for transfer.

Many universities will let you enroll for one or two classes as a non-degree/non-matriculated student. You should contact Hunter directly to find out whether that option is open to you.
