One drawback of Florida A&M is that all Florida public universities require summer session attendance (at least 9 credits), even for students who could otherwise graduate in 8 semesters or fewer, unless the student entered with at least 60 credits (mainly junior level transfers, although some frosh with huge amounts of AP/IB/college credit in high school may have that). This could be an extra cost and limitation against summer jobs.
