<p>EA</a> Admissions Committee & my anniversary! - Caltech</p>

<p>"Today, we had Committee for the early applicant pool all day at the admissions office. We made the final decisions on students we would admit and hold from the pool we received about a month ago. Admissions committee is always a little bit mentally taxing and is definitely tiring---but we pulled together and got it done! Good work team!"</p>

<p>I believe this means we could be expecting our emails any day now... i hope???</p>

<p>The blog post was probably written yesterday or even earlier—she mentions the selection process continuing through the afternoon even though the entry was published at 10:23 AM. Plus, she comments on it being a “coincidental” date—maybe Caltech Admissions asked her to pre-write the post and then they put it up today as a precursor to the emailing of decisions?</p>

<p>I hadn’t realized Caltech decisions were coming out so soon! I thought it would be like the 15th or so. This is great (hopefully).</p>

<p>I’m not sure if that 841 is accurate because if you look back at last years Director’s Notebook (2008-2009 down on the left hand side) they claim to have had 1048 EA applicants so the 1033 this year would actually be smaller… i don’t understand this at all???</p>

<p>Okay. So, some advice. I’m going to the mall with friends tomorrow. I get my email on my phone. Come 12:00 noon, do I look at my phone, or do I wait until after I am done shopping?</p>
