Shooting for Columbia and UPenn here as well. You seem like a brilliant candidate! Update us on what happens?
@CenturiesAway Come on man, you know you are ahead of even top competition. The aggravation comes from hundreds of kids like you who do exactly what I said and try to make themselves feel better. To be real, the amount of âofficialâ people (such as admissions officers) on this website are so low that everyone on this website has an incorrect opinion based on little fact. No one should use this website unless searching for answers they truly dont know, and I doubt a talented student like yourself doesnât know you are a hot commodity for college admissions. If you didnt, you would not try as hard and would not have an impressive resume. Your high school has college counselors for a reason, who are much more inclined to have proper opinion on your chances.
Edit: its like someone who is going to be a lottery pick in the NBA asking others if he will even get there. Of course he will, and he knows it. The general populace has no idea at that point. You are so high up on the standard deviation only an official person from top universities can tell you what you need to know.
I predict the following for you
Harvard - accept
MIT - accept
Yale - accept
Columbia - accept
UPenn accept
Duke accept
Georgetown accept
UC Berkeley accept
USC accept
UC Irvine accept
UC San Diego accept
Thatâs right, you will run the table and get into all of them.
Are you disappointed that you donât have a likely letter from all of them yet?
/sarcasm off
Sorry, but thatâs what you wanted to hear, right? I donât mean to pick on you. I must admit I chuckled when I saw you write âAPUPSHâ instead of APUSH - I guess you really wanted a pup lover to comment. The above was typed with a sense of humor trying to get you to relax a moment.
You are smart enough to understand what the low admit percentages mean. You must have read some of the threads about awesome kids who get rejected from some of these top schools.
While all of us may be truly impressed with some of your accomplishments, none of us has all of the information about your application and all the other kids who are applying, and what the schools need. We donât know if you come off as arrogant or entitled (I doubt it) in your writing or interviews, or as humble and appreciative of the journey you are beginning.
You will get into a great school and you will do well.
Kudos to you. Stop worrying.
So you have as solid chances as anybody. But I would say about the same chances as most qualified ivy applicants due to your recommendations not being stellar. They have to feel like you belong at the school and if your recommendations donât boast what kind of a wonderful addition youâd be to any university you have to make up for that in other areas, which it appears that you have. However, what it comes down to is that this process is seemingly random and you will get some good and bad surprises. If you have any further questions about personal experience you can DM me and Iâd be happy to talk to you as you are gearing up for Ivy day just around the corner. If not I wish you best of luck and Iâm sure you will end up somewhere great!!
You can get into all of them! Youâre truly an inspiration! I didnât even need to look haha
You sound really impressive and have a strong, contentious application. Ivies are kind of a crapshoot though- there are so many qualified candidates and at a certain point the selection process becomes random because its difficult to differentiate between the amount of great students. You have solid chances at a lot of the schools on this list, though.
