Self Report on Common App

What is the point of reporting your scores on the Common App? Aren't you supposed to send the schools your scores anyway?
Do we really have to report all of the scores and dates that we have taken? Because I have some scores that I'd prefer not to send because they weren't satisfactory...

Any scores that are self-reported on the Common Application are considered by the colleges to be unofficial. The official scores — or at least, the ones designated by the applicant — will be sent to the colleges directly by the College Board. So the Common Application is not, in effect, the last word. As to what’s the point of reporting your scores on the common app it’s simple: many colleges prefer to have some or all self-reported scores in order to speed the processing of their application before official scores arrive. Keep in mind that adcoms understand if you have a bad testing day and usually take the highest of your scores so there is no need to be ashamed.

Ok. Then would you suggest that an applicant should send all of their test scores for all test days AND self report all of them too?

If you can you should.

Ok then. Thanks so much for the help!
