Self Reported Course Work Question/Issue

Hello! So I just submitted Part II, quite happy with the application for the most part (I did the best I could, up to them at this point). There was one thing, though: after I submitted, I realized that on the Self-Reported Course Work, I listed my classes that weren't Honors or AP (regular high school courses would be the best way to describe them, though our school calls them Academic) as "Other." I didn't explain what that meant in the spot where you explain the grading system of your school, and now I'm worrying about a misinterpretation between the Self-Reported Course Work and my actual transcript. I don't want this discrepancy to cause a huge issue and maybe even jeopardize my chances. I've sent an e-mail, and I plan to call MIT tomorrow, but I'm starting to freak out. What do you guys think?

I was wondering the same thing, and I just figure since they’ll show up on our transcripts as actual classes, it’ll clarify things.

^No big deal, I’m sure. They’ll figure it all out. They’ll probably look at your transcript to see what you meant by “Other” as opposed to “Regular.” Not to worry. It’ll all be fine. They’re looking for human beings to attend MIT. Humans do things like what you did. You’re fine.

SimpleLife is right – the admissions officers will figure it out. They are reasonable people, and they’ve seen every permutation of possible application interpretations. They will look at your application, look at your transcript, and understand what you meant.

I don’t really think you need to call MIT tomorrow, but of course you can do it if it makes you feel better.
