self-reporting SAT scores

the second time I took the SAT, all of my scores dropped or stayed the same.

CR: 790 --> 740
M: 720 --> 660 (!!!!)
W: 760 --> 760 [essay score did go up]

I know that colleges will see the second results, but do I need to self-report them on the common app?

Also, I have a bad SAT II score that I'd rather not share with las universidades. Do I need to self report it?

first of all, why did you retake a 2270?

second, self-report all the scores since they will see them anyway on CB's official report. for the SATII, i would report only if they require/recommend it.

I retook a 2270 because I got that score the morning after a party and I hadn't studied.

I also retook it because my GPA is so low that I though I should try to compensate with a 2350+.

Unfortunately, I had the flu when I retook.. and still hadn't studied much.

Mmkay, I guess I'll report it. Thanks.

everyone says the adcom will see all the SAT scores anyway. That's not necessarily true. It's been explained to me that most admissions offices have admin. people who transcirbe the scores (for SAT I, the superscore) on a cover sheet for the adcom--who WILL also get a copy of your app. If they only care about the highest scores anyway, which is what every school I'm applying to says, then why report lower ones?

wow, nice point.
